One of the distinguishing traits of 'modern' buildings is how little they work with nature (and how much energy they use to do that). Letting nature take over would be a significant step in making more economical (and 'green') cities and structures.
Another trait is the decided lack of any appearance of spirituality in our 'constructs' as you put it. I think in a later era we will look back on our accumulated detritus (if it even lasts that long)as so much junk divorced from any awareness of ourselves or our nature.

Excellent point! I hadn't even considered the spiritual aspect of this study. You have me thinking in a whole new way about it.
