3.The right side is the better design. Straight lines are opposed to curved line, vertical contrasts with horizontal, thick line to thin line, and black opposes white. Straight, thin lines, vertical direction, and black value dominate and create unity.

This is the one I got wrong! Every time I look at these, the left one always seems the better one to my eye.
