Labor Day 2008 will be remembered for closed beaches due to medical waste that washed up on the sand in Avalon, NJ.... and for Politicians trying to put on their most serious emergency preparedness faces in advance of hurricane Gustov approaching the gulf coast of Florida. We have become a nation of idiots public officials who are obsessed with saying the right thing at precisely the right moment. If Gustov had turned into a major catastrophe, at least everyone running for office would have great video clips proving that they had been sufficiently concerned.... Thank God for that!
